Checks and DCs

Checks and DCs - Checks are when a Player or GM rolls a d20 to see if a task succeeds or fails. - Difficulty Class (DC) is the number that a check must meet to succeed. - To make a check, roll a d20, add any l modifiers or penalties, and compare the result with the DC. - Sometimes rolls can critically succeed or critically fail. This is called the Degree of Success. Rolling a 1 on the d20 will make the Degree of Success go down one bracket. A check 10 or more below the DC is a Critical Failure. A check below the DC is a Failure. A check that meets the DC is a Success. A check 10 or more above the DC is a Critical Success. Rolling a 20 on the d20 will make the Degree of Success go up one bracket.
